A couple of weeks ago I found these wonderful lunch boxes, luggage tags and water bottles that can be personalized. I immediately ordered the darling set for each of my children. I chose the soccer ball design for my son, and the oh-so-cute polka dot pattern for my daughter. And now that these goodies have come in, I have two kids who are asking me why they have to wait to use their new school sets!
Fresh packets of pencils, clothes with the tags still on them, and stinkin' cute lunch boxes, water bottles and luggage tags . . . It's the back-to-school ritual!
Except this time, my kids are counting down the days until school begins - excited to show off their mom's newest fashion find. Here's a hint from a mom who made a mistake: you may want to share one item at a time with your kids so their excitement may carry you right to the front doorstep of school!

All around me, I see signs for summer reading programs. I'd like to propose a summer writing program. Reading is definitely an important skill. Writing is a close second.Labels: "gift ideas", "Lily Pulitzer", "Melissa and Doug", "Vera Bradley", Heidi Challenge", Moleskine, Zoomerang
And just in case you are in the over-40 or over-50 set that needs readers to help you see those conversation starters, bring on the Eyebobs! These uber-chic readers are totally about the woman with an attitude and confidence. Create different looks for day / night / office by simply changing your readers. After all, most people have 8 sets of readers so why not have 8 different styles? These distinctive glasses make the term "beer goggles" seem pintless (oh, I mean pointless)! Feel your attitude adjust into sassy mode the minute you slide on a pair of these glasses - exclusively made for your inner diva.Labels: "Eyebobs", "gift ideas", "Gift Suggestions", "Heidi's Picks", "Table Topics"
Too "crabby" to get the party started? Try adding some inexpensive comedy! These witty cocktail napkins are guaranteed to turn up the laughter track on any gathering. From hilarious quotes like "Without family, alcohol wouldn't be necessary," and "I don't repeat gossip, so listen carefully," your guests will remember your funny quips all the way home - or at least to the bathroom.
And just in case you weren't born with a Ph.D in party-planning, Anna Post and her sister Lizzie Post (yes, great-granddaughters of the Manners Maven herself, Emily Post) just released their new Great Get-Togethers book that is a "bible" for anyone who entertains. From what foods to serve (and not to serve) at which parties, how to be a guest at your own party and a whole host of etiquette questions and answers - this book is a must-read for any modern woman. Ever asked yourself if you have to pour the wine that is brought as a hostess gift? Have you found yourself perplexed on how to politely get lingering guests out the door? Well then, this book has your answers! (You didn't think I was going to tell you, did you?)Labels: "Anna Post", "entertainment ideas", "gift ideas", "outdoor living", entertaining
